ATTENTION FELLOW BALTIMORE FOLKS!! (or anyone else who lives remotely close to the MD/DC area)
I am exceptionally proud to announce that myself, Interrobang Studios, and the fine folks at Robot Martini are putting on THE WINDUP COMICS FEST on May 22nd from 2-7pm at the Windup Space in Baltimore, MD. It's gonna be a FREE all-ages events featuring local comic creators and dealers. Come on by and say "hello" and then peruse some old comics and maybe find some new ones (of course, if you buy one or two of mine, I'd be exceptionally grateful).
Again, this is an ABSOLUTELY FREE comics event in Baltimore. Also, if you have comics-related stuff you'd like to sell (either from your collection or ones you created) there is still a VERY limited number of spots open for exhibitors. You can apply for a spot here.
So yeah, do come out and support local artists and retailers. Come to the Interrobang Studios table and mention you found out about this through kevinbolk.com and I'll hook you up with a FREE SKETCH. For more info on the show, check out our website: www.interrobangstudios.com/windup/
See ya' there!

Sorry it's been a little while since my last update. Things have been very hectic in the land of Kevin. It's been hectic in a good way, mind you, but updates to the big page o' me have been slow in coming as a result.
First off, the Maryland Writer's Association conference I talked about during my last entry was a rousing success. I got to meet a lot of cool people, my talk went splendidly, and some really good connections were made. Huzzah!! If any of you folks are reading this now, let me say "Thank you" for a fun and welcoming experience. I'm certainly looking forward to next year's event.
For those of you who couldn't make it out there, here's some scans of the extensively illustrated handout I gave out during my presentation:

In other awesome-sauce news, Interrobang Studios launched a spicy revamp of its website with a lot of nifty features and some brand new comics sites! Included is a brand new site for the "I'm My Own Mascot" comics I host here on kevinbolk.com. You can check it out in the comics section or through Interrobang Studios now, and it's got a searchable archive and some other goodies to boot. The comic also has it's own URL: http://www.mascotcomic.com . Don't forget to change your bookmarks!
As always, feel free to shoot me an email letting me know what you think or if you have more stuff you'd like to see here or on the interrobang site. It's great hearing from all of you.
Back to the drawing board for the Kevin!
Got some new strips in the comics section, including a brand-new "I'm my own mascot" detailing the amusing statistics of my newest comic book. And the weekly Interrobang comics are up again, so feel free to check those out and, as always, I welcome any feedback you guys have.
Baltimore Comic Con went really well and I got to meet a lot of really cool people (including comics master, Jim Lee). Had a lot of commissions too, so many thanks to the folks who gave me the opportunity (and the cash) to do that. Fellow cartoonist Alex Robinson even featured my piece for him on his nifty-keen comics site. You can check it out at: http://www.comicbookalex.com/WallofFame.html So yeah, the BCC was full of win. Can't wait for next year.
Alright, now it's back to the ol' drawing table. Hoo Ha!!
